A five-metre frontage on a street that climbs. The house is organised as a stair with rooms attached to it — kitchen at the bottom where the ground is cool, bedrooms in the middle, a single living room at the top where the Tejo appears above the rooftops. Lime render outside, pine inside, no plasterboard anywhere. The client asked for a house that would not need repainting in their lifetime.
